The National Day of the Republic of Slovenia Reception | Exhibition | Panel

The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot and The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Slovenia, attended by H.E. Ambassador Ms. Barbara Sušnik, H.E. Ambassador Ms. Charlotte Slente, and distinguished guests.

The reception included:

  • An exhibition on Jewish soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Army on the Isonzo Front during the 1st World War, prepared by the Slovenian ‘Milko Kos Historical Institute at ZRC SAZU’ and ”Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor’ in English, Hebrew and Slovenian.
  • A panel on Jewish soldiers of the Austro-Hungarian Army, with Dr. Renato Podbersič, one of the authors of the exhibition, and an expert particularly on the history of Jewish community in Gorica/Gorizia between 1900-1950, and Prof. Boris Hajdinjak, Director of ‘Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor’, author and researcher, specialized in the history of the Holocaust in Central and Southeastern Europe.
