DOR by ANU

We are launching the second cohort of DOR – the first accelerator in Israel for immigrant artists working at the intersection of cultures, languages, and identities.

DOR by ANU is a six-month accelerator for creative professionals, created by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sport and ANU – Museum of the Jewish People to support Russian-speaking immigrant artists seeking space for self-expression, professional development, and integration into the Israeli cultural field.

The first cohort of DOR by ANU took place in 2025 and brought together 28 artists and creative professionals working across a wide range of media – from visual art, theatre and performance to photography, sound art and immersive formats. Over the course of an intensive four-month professional development process, participants took part in 25 lectures and 15 practical sessions led by key figures from the cultural field, 8 networking meetings within the group, 7 visits to local cultural institutions, meetings with curators, producers and artists, and 4 field trips outside Tel Aviv. They also worked individually or in teams with 21 mentors, who accompanied them throughout the development of their final projects.

The program has already become not only an educational platform, but also an entry point into the professional field: participants formed new connections, began developing new collaborations, and realized projects conceived during the accelerator.

DOR by ANU builds a bridge between immigrant artists and the local art scene, helping to preserve and unfold the creative potential of the new wave of aliyah.

• Enable immigrant artists to integrate into Israeli culture through projects, collaborations, and visibility.
• Create a vibrant meeting point between new and veteran artists, driven by mutual curiosity and professional openness.
• Open the doors of cultural institutions to new voices and fresh connections.
• Expand Israel's cultural narrative and strengthen the voice of immigrant artists within it.
• Deepen familiarity with Israeli culture and encourage personal and professional connection to Jewish identity through creation and activity.
• Prevent vibrant and relevant art from remaining marginalized due to lack of access or connections.

Phase One – Professional Incubator (September 2026 - January 2027)
Participants undergo a training program that includes workshops, professional lectures, and guidance in developing ideas for artistic projects. At the end of this phase, six outstanding projects will be selected to receive a production grant.

Phase Two – Project Production (2027)
The selected projects will be brought to life with curatorial and production support.
